4 m+ k; I- h: S. t; |* rtopic. From that observation sprang the plan for a short
5 P6 l. M+ U; d w6 x; U; s7 bversion that could be used as an introductory text or for
1 s6 O4 [ L; [# D; }6 Aself-education.
H% a1 X4 ~' T. k T1 Q" O- RAn introductory text clearly benefits from the
& k2 m$ k5 H3 X5 V% P, [coherence provided by a single author, but suffers from
" w8 s8 k+ N. f z9 f" Jthe finite expertise of any single researcher. Therefore, a
* J4 Y- [4 B9 U5 R; a% C+ Dcompromise was devised, in which each chapter was coauthored
. z) E# k) M% l8 a: [; [by an expert in the specific area under consideration.

preparation of Viral Pathogenesis. The text includes
