An introductory text clearly benefits from the- U8 Q% s' m2 g5 ~
coherence provided by a single author, but suffers from
& z0 a- C. G! F8 S2 fthe finite expertise of any single researcher. Therefore, a5 w, l% |& S1 G+ x
compromise was devised, in which each chapter was coauthored; j/ l1 Z2 B& R+ i4 ^

collaborations that had been developed during the
