unsuited for readers who desired an introduction to the

version that could be used as an introductory text or for+ N9 v. |5 e9 N) S; P
self-education.1 ~3 K7 J$ r* z
An introductory text clearly benefits from the
& _2 W! T" g5 u) i, ?3 Dcoherence provided by a single author, but suffers from5 @% D% }# q0 K* ]9 q0 e
the finite expertise of any single researcher. Therefore, a. G9 T' C1 @9 p* P- W% _/ r; @$ r
compromise was devised, in which each chapter was coauthored' h, Y; n! X/ a# S( ^& }- i- d+ T4 L
by an expert in the specific area under consideration.
