topic. From that observation sprang the plan for a short

! V. Y3 P7 C: X- cAn introductory text clearly benefits from the
; y+ p/ v3 u$ g" Wcoherence provided by a single author, but suffers from4 O5 c1 S# e6 [; r7 O, V
the finite expertise of any single researcher. Therefore, a
+ a& i+ m7 z$ b1 k5 Ecompromise was devised, in which each chapter was coauthored/ j, h! T- I% c2 m2 x
by an expert in the specific area under consideration.
